Chilos, West End

 RATINGS

SERVICE AND AMBIENCE: 8.8

TASTE: 8.5/10

VALUE: 9.2/10

SERVICE AND AMBIANCE: 8.8/10

The restaurant more or less ticks all the boxes needed for a fast food restaurant. The interior is predominantly black and white with stylish, but simple, décor striking a balance between trendy and welcoming. When I went it was a around 9pm so there was lots of seats available and the service was immediate and very friendly. The woman behind the counter explained the ordering process and there was even a guide on the wall to make it even clearer. I can imagine at busier times the service wouldn’t be as good, as there is no self-service machines, which could result in increased wait times for customers, but my experience was very positive.

TASTE: 8.5/10

After a thorough analysis of the menu I was drawn to the ‘Double Stack Burger’. It consisted of two beef patty’s, Chilos secret seasoning, Chilos sauce, melted cheddar cheese, mayo, red onions, gherkins and lettuce. As you can see, this burger was A LOT. The beef was smashed down very thin, making the overall compactness of the burger on point. Due to how much was in the burger, it was hard to differentiate the flavours, but they certainly complimented each other well. The patty’s themselves were slightly over done for my liking, not that I don’t appreciate a crispy burger, but felt there was room for less time on the grill. The sauces complimented each other very well; the Chilos sauce is slightly herby, adding more flavour to the classic mayonnaise provided. The salad was very fresh, however could have done with slightly more lettuce, or perhaps less onions as it could have been overbearing for some eaters. With that being said, don’t let these harsh critiques fool you from the fact that this was an exceptional burger, and I would definitely recommend for someone who loves their classics.

VALUE:9.2/10

The total price of my meal was £12.50, which I would say to be more than fair considering it consisted of two patties, a side of fries, a dip of your choice and a large drink. Needless to say, I went home with a full belly and a satisfied smile.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken Sauchiehall Street

RATINGS SERVICE AND AMBIANCE: 6.7/10 TASTE: 7.5/10 VALUE: 9/10 Service and ambience (Popeyes, Sauchiehall Street) The restaurant has an energetic feel, stepping in you are immediately blinded by its excessive uses of luminous orange and bright baby blue. It's all very cliched 'American South', but it works. It's simple, in your face and extremely family- friendly. There are plenty seats, booths and regular tables but unfortunatley, due to the sheer amount of customers or lack of staff, they are often dirty, ridden with the reminants of the last eaters' breadcrumbs. The self- service is perfect however, allowing us customers to efficiently order our food, with very little wait time.  SERVICE AND AMBIANCE OVERALL: 6.7/10 Taste I ordered the 'Hot Honey Box Meal', a hand- breaded chicken breast in hot honey sauce, topped with smoked cheese and pickles on a brioche bun followed by two chicken tenders and a regular drink, priced all-together at £10.99. We will sol...

Rajas West End

RATINGS SERVICE AND AMBIANCE: 4.6/10 TASTE: 7/10 VALUE: 8.5/10 SERVICE AND AMBIANCE: 4.6/10 (Clear Menu) Now, it is with a heavy heart that I have to give Raja’s such a poor score for service and ambiance, as it is my local burger place that has been a staple within my friendship group for many years. The service though, is nothing short of terrible. I recently went back after a long time to do this review and even phoned in advance with my order so that it would be snappy. The man of few words over the phone said that the food would be 15-20 minutes. Okay perfect, ill watch 20 minutes of YouTube then head down (I’m round the corner). Upon arriving, there was no one in front of me at the counter, only a few boys already sat with their food. The people working there pretty much completely ignored me as they were preparing the kitchen, except from one guy who I made awkward eye contact with about 4 times, still no communication. Eventually my presence was acknowledged and after a...
